Repeat Announcements

SPA-ghetti Dinner Raffle is looking for donations of gently used wicker baskets for our raffle.  Please drop them off in the Alumni Office.  They have to be “large” in size for our wonderful raffle baskets that are raffled off at the SPA-ghetti Dinner.

“Hollywood Nights” Gala Meeting.  We will have our first Foundation Gala meeting on Tuesday, September 14 at 8:30 a.m. in the Trophy Room.  Come and join us for coffee and pastries and find out how you can get involved in this exciting event.  

Mrs. Michelle Mathews, English Teacher and Publications Adviser, is looking for a carpool for her son, Jake, a 7th grader at St. Cyril.  They live on the NE side (Sabino and Cloud area).  She would be happy to pay for this service.  If you can help out, please call Michelle at 885-1365 in the evenings or email her at mmathews@salpointe.org . 

The American Appreciation Club is collecting donations for care packages to be shipped to active military personnel serving overseas.  If you have a loved one who is currently serving, please send his/her name and address to tquihuis@salpointe.org . Needed items include:  coffee, snacks (beef jerky, sunflower seeds, jelly beans, chips, gum, mints, etc.) protein/breakfast bars, drink mixes, dry soups, baby wipes, sun block, holiday decorations, stationery, movies, sudoku/crossword puzzle books, magazines/newspapers, playing cards, dice, small board games, paperback books, notes/letters of appreciation, money to help with postage.  These items may be dropped off in Room 706 or at the collection table at the game this Friday night (9/3).  The American Appreciation Club thanks you for your support and generosity!

Football season tickets are also available at a cost of $20.00 (this will save you standing in line to purchase a ticket for every game.)  To purchase either ticket, please contact Vera Gaskins at 547-1955 or vgaskins@salpointe.org .

In conjunction with Games for the Greater Good (GGG)™, a non-profit awareness project initiated by the 2009 Salpointe Lancer Football Team in an effort to make a positive difference in our community, we would like to invite all military (active or retired) to the first game of the 2010 football season. Please bring your military ID or wear your uniform to the game on September 3, 2010 to receive free admission. We invite our military and veterans to join us on the field at half time for a tribute to you and your commitment to our country. We extend a special invitation to WWII and Korean War veterans to be honored at our festivities. Please contact Merri Siler at msiler@salpointe.org  to make your reservation.

Computer Lab / Learning Lab / Library / Tutoring Hours

The Learning Lab hours are: Monday – Wednesday from 8:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. including both lunches and Thursday and Friday from 7:30 – 3:30 including both lunches.
The Library will open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday Tutoring will be held in the Cafeteria on Tuesdays from 3:15 – 5:30 p.m.

Events for Today

The American Appreciation Club will meet today, September 2 at 2:35 in Room 706!

Car Club meeting today in Room 605 at 2:40.

CLUB GREEN will meet today 10 minutes after the bell in Fr. Rick’s room #404. Snacks and refreshments will be served. New members are always welcomed. We especially invite freshmen who are not involved in other clubs to join ours.

We will have our first JSA (Junior Statesmen of America) meeting of the year after school today in Room 402 at 2:30.  At JSA we talk politics and prepare for conventions.  If you are interested in learning more about the legislative process, then JSA is for you.   We will also discuss club t-shirts at our meeting. 

NUTS AND BOLTS will be in Room 505 today (9/2) afterschool.

SADD Club is gearing up for a great year.  We need volunteers for Chain of Life, Ice Cream Social, Spa-ghetti Dinner, and many other events.  Come join us!  Today after school in Room 311.  See you there!

The Student Athletic Training Club will be meeting today, September 2 at 2:45 p.m. in the Athletic Injury Treatment Center.

All drama students:  if you took home the registration forms to attend the state Thespian Festival in November, the deadline for them to be returned to Mr. Halper is no later than today (Thursday, Sept. 2nd) after school in the theatre.  You can bring them to the theatre earlier and give them to Mrs. Milne or Mr. Halper.

TALENTED SALPOINTE students – are you interested in performing at the SPA-ghetti Dinner on Sunday, October 31, 2010?  Bands, performers, soloists, dancers, all are welcomed to show-case you talents at the annual SPA-ghetti Dinner.  If you are interested in performing please contact Mrs. Gessner at pgessner@salpointe.org  or stop in to RM# 117 in the main hallway. 

The American Appreciation Club is currently collecting donations for our annual care package drive.  The items you donate will be packaged and shipped to troops stationed overseas.
If you would like to donate, here are some of the suggested items: coffee, snacks, protein bars, baby wipes, sun block, movies, decks of playing cards, crossword puzzle books, paperback novels, stationary, etc.
You may drop off these items in Mrs. Quihuis’ classroom (706) or bring them to the club’s collection table at the football game this Friday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m.  Thank you for your help!

The American Appreciation Club is currently collecting donations for our annual care package drive.  The items you donate will be packaged and shipped to troops stationed overseas.If you would like to donate, here are some of the suggested items: coffee, snacks, protein bars, baby wipes, sun block, movies, decks of playing cards, crossword puzzle books, paperback novels, stationary, etc. You may drop off these items in Mrs. Quihuis’ classroom (706) or bring them to the club’s collection table at the football game this Friday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m.  Thank you for your help!

We will have our first JSA (Junior Statesmen of America) meeting of the year after school on Thursday in Room 402.  At JSA we talk politics and prepare for conventions.  If you are interested in learning more about the legislative process, then JSA is for you.   We will also discuss club t-shirts at our meeting.  The meeting will be on Thursday, September 2 at 2:30 in Room 402.

NUTS AND BOLTS will be in Room 505 on Thursday (9/2) after school.

All drama students:  If you took home the registration forms to attend the state Thespian Festival in November, the deadline for them to be returned to Mr. Halper is no later than this Thursday, Sept. 2nd after school in the theatre.  You can bring them to the theatre earlier and give them to Mrs. Milne or Mr. Halper.

SADD Club is gearing up for a great year.  We need volunteers for Chain of Life, Ice Cream Social, Spa-ghetti Dinner, and many other events.  Come join us!  Thursday after school in Room 311.  See you there!

Parking spaces at Salpointe are at a premium both for school days and for evening events.  In order to accommodate all of our needs we must insist on the cooperation of our students.  Therefore, ALL student cars must be removed from the restricted Quarterback Club Parking Lot of the weight/band room parking area by 3:00 p.m. on Friday home football game days, or they will be FINED.  This rule will be strictly enforced.

Family Athletic passes are available for $100 each.  These passes admit the entire family to every regular season home contest on the Salpointe sports schedule for the 2010-2011 school year (a saving of $670 for a family of four if they were to attend every home athletic contest during the year).Football season tickets are also available at a cost of $20.00 (this will save you standing in line to purchase a ticket for every game.)  To purchase either ticket, please contact Vera Gaskins at 547-1955 or vgaskins@salpointe.org .

In conjunction with Games for the Greater Good (GGG)™, a non-profit awareness project initiated by the 2009 Salpointe Lancer Football Team in an effort to make a positive difference in our community, we would like to invite all military (active or retired) to the first game of the 2010 football season. Please bring your military ID or wear your uniform to the game on September 3, 2010 to receive free admission. We invite our military and veterans to join us on the field at half time for a tribute to you and your commitment to our country. All students: remember you can get into any home athletic event here on campus with your student ID.  Make sure you always have your ID and show it to the ticket taker at the athletic event you are attending.  If you do not have your ID then you will have to pay regular admission price of $3.

Please join the Salpointe Counseling Staff for College Planning Night for Senior Parents today August 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the theater.
