|The Salpointe Education Foundation (SCEF)
The mission of the Salpointe Catholic Education Foundation is to support the educational, moral, scientific and artistic endeavors of the Salpointe community. The Foundation has touched the lives of generations of Lancers. Incorporated in 1984, the Foundation was blessed with 97 charter members who donated $120,000 to create an endowed fund. Today, the Foundation has grown to over 600 members who have made gifts of between $1000 and $50,000. The endowed fund is valued at approximately $2.5 M. Since 1984, the SCEF has approved grant requests of over $1,571,265 to help maintain excellence in academics at Salpointe. The foundation has partnered with the school to renovate the science wing of the school and to equip most classrooms with interactive whiteboards. Other recent SCEF projects include new library furniture, digital photo lab with Steve Halper, track and field facility renovation, faculty professional development, and a five-year $1.5M pledge to the capital campaign.
The Foundation raises funds in a variety of ways:
Membership. All families and friends of Salpointe are encouraged to become members of the SCEF. Lifetime memberships are granted with a cash, check or securities donation of $1,000, payable at once or over one year. Membership upgrades are always encouraged! Membership dollars are endowed dollars, and as such, become part of the SCEF endowed fund. Donations of $1,000+ are publicly recognized on the Foundation plaque in the main hall of the school and in the annual report. CLICK HERE TO DONATE OR JOIN! Annual Gala. Each year for the past 26 years, the SCEF has produced an annual gala fundraising dinner dance auction to benefit the Foundation. The annual gala has helped raise over $1,088,000 to benefit the Lancers. An over-the-top colorful and festive evening was enjoyed on Saturday, February 9, 2013 as attendees danced, dined and bid on fabulous auction items in the completely transformed Salpointe gymnasium. Proceeds of $84,800+ were re-invested in the school to maintain excellence in education at Salpointe. The "Carnivale" Gala Chairs Tammy Caillet-Falbaum and Edd Ruiz and their fabulous committee created an event that all will remember with delight!
