Summer Program

Summer School and Summer Assignments

Salpointe offers summer school to incoming students, those wishing to get ahead or to those who need to retake a class, Salpointe also requires that some classes have summer assignments that are to be completed during the break and turned in when school resumes in August.

Summer school is held in two sessions, one for current students and the second one is for current student and for incoming freshman. Class runs from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

  • Summer School Attendance

Because a large amount of course work is covered in only 11 days, Salpointe Summer School strictly adheres to the below attendance and tardy policy.

Students are allowed one absence, per summer school session. No doctors appointments or other activities should be scheduled during the summer school class periods that would impact a student being late, leaving early, or missing any time whatsoever. A second absence automatically drops the student from the course with no refund of tuition from that summer school session.

There are no school/athletic related excused absences in summer school.  Students are expected to be on time to class. Attendance is mandatory for the last day of each session of summer school.

There are no exceptions to the above policy.

Once a student receives their third tardy in the same session of summer school, the tardy will automatically become an absence. A tardy can be given by a teacher for a student arriving late to school, returning late from lunch or a break.

All decisions regarding absences and tardies will be handled by Mr. Patrick Hayes, Assistant Principal for Student Services.
