On November 16, the Salpointe Cheer team qualified to compete at the State and National competitions! In February, 15 athletes will compete at both the AIA State level in Phoenix and later at the USA Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, CA. The Cheer team, including 19 athletes, competes five times throughout the school year.
They perform at football games and men's and women's home basketball games, as well as at pep rallies, school assemblies and other school events.
"We are proud of our philanthropic efforts with the Ronald McDonald House," said Cheer Coach Nicole Dudas. "This year we raised $500 and also participated in the Ronald McDonald House Walk for Children on December 7th." The team is also participating in the Bald Beauties Project's "Queen Bee" Beads of Courage "Carry-A-Bead" philanthropy, where they carry pins with beads to later distribute to children fighting cancer.
