Letter to Salpointe Families from Kay Sullivan - August 21
From the Salpointe Weekly Peek email sent out August 21.
Dear Lancer families,
Thank you for your patience, resilience and understanding as we work to maximize learning and minimize the challenges associated with distance learning. We have experienced some superlative teaching and learning, as well as mastery in the use of technology, this week. But we have also struggled with Chromebook problems and adjusting to hours spent at computer screens and in Google Meets. Please bear with us as we effect adjustments that will make the best of this most unfortunate situation.
On the bright side, freshmen and transfer students had an engaging Monday. Over 340 incoming students came to campus in small groups, staggered throughout the day, as first time Lancers to pick up Chromebooks and learn how to use them, and to enjoy a bit of fun and games. The campus was alive for the first time since March 13! We miss our students and can’t wait to have them back on campus!
Please let us know how we can help you. Our counselors, teachers, financial aid manager, college counselor, learning lab director, tutoring staff, campus ministers and all of us are here and ready to help you and your Lancers. Don’t hesitate to reach out and ask when assistance is needed.
Again, thank you for your continued support and patience as we work to safely bring Lancers back to campus. Have a fun and healthful weekend!
