Dear Salpointe Community,
Easter and the Resurrected Christ are about love, healing and hope. Our pandemic-weary world is starting to feel a tangible sense of relief from the stifling anxieties of the past two years and we joyfully welcome Jesus’ promise of love, healing and hope. May your Easter be filled with that promise.
On Tuesday, April 12, Salpointe Catholic held our annual Awards Assembly. The Kalil Family Gymnasium was filled with Lancer students, faculty, staff, parents and guests. First, three faculty members were saluted with statewide honors: Mrs. Cecilia Gossler, Mr. Brian Holstrom and Mr. David Garwacki. Then, with prospective award winners seated front and center, and with over 1230 students in the audience applauding and cheering, Salpointe bestowed high honors on over 125 outstanding young leaders

. We congratulate these students and all of our Lancers who aspire to academic excellence, demonstrate leadership, practice Carmelite values, model good citizenship and honor the dignity of everyone they meet.
As we emerge from the craziness of the past two years, one of the most notable challenges on campus has been in regard to student attire. Students have had difficulty readjusting to our established dress code and enforcement has been purposely weak. However, next year we are paralleling our five Carmelite sister schools in revising the dress code, which will be distributed to you next week. We appreciate your support and compliance.
On Friday, April 22, Salpointe will celebrate Earth Day and Easter Mass. Our community will gather on the track for a prayer circle to honor Mother Earth and our commitment to care for all creation. We will recognize Tucson’s Native American heritage, land and people, then process into Kalil Family Gym for Easter Mass. At that liturgy, Br. Filiberto Oregel, O.Carm., will renew his Carmelite vows. Congratulations, Br. Fili.
Thank you, Salpointe community, for your strength and resilience, for your gratitude and inspiration and for your commitment to our mission and to one another. May God bless you and keep you!
