Salpointe Weekly Peek - January 20, 2023

Weekly Peek Prayer:

Dear Lord, please help me to accept both life’s little challenges and Your restoring help with grace and gratitude. Help me remember that no problem is too large or too small for me to call out to You. Please help me remember that a heart can be filled in with joy every day, not just the easy days. Amen. Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.

Absence Policy
Students are permitted 12 absences per semester per class. All school absences, whether approved by the parent/guardian or not, count toward the total of 12 unless it is a school-related activity such as field trips, AIA-sanctioned athletic events, fine arts performances, Kairos or class retreats. Absence from class is when a student arrives 15 minutes after the class begins.

Parents/Guardians and students should use personal discretion as to how the 12 absences are used, e.g. doctor appointments, illness, college visits, family trips, club tournaments etc.

Students who exceed 12 absences in a class may be removed and lose credit from the course. Students would then be required to remediate the missed course in order to maintain their enrollment.
Early Dismissal/Leaving Campus
Students are required to provide the Attendance Office (Student Services Center) with notification via note or phone call from the parent/guardian prior to leaving campus. Students MAY NOT leave campus without clearance by the Health or Attendance Office. Parents may not remove a student from campus without prior notification to the Attendance Office. Students being picked up with a dismissal slip should report to the Attendance Office (Student Services Center). Violation of this policy may result in an unexcused absence and disciplinary consequences may be imposed.
All early dismissal requests will be retrieved from voicemail. Please be sure to give at least a two hour notice for your request to be processed. We do not have an intercom system, we have TAs taking passes to class to get students dismissed.
