Salpointe's pride and appreciation for its students can best be summarized by the President's remarks:

Dear Salpointe Community,
On Wednesday, April 16, Salpointe Catholic held its annual Student Awards Assembly. The Kalil Family Gymnasium was filled with Lancer students, faculty, staff, parents and guests. With prospective award winners seated front and center and with over 1100 students in the audience applauding and cheering, Salpointe bestowed high honors upon 106 outstanding young leaders. I would like to share a few thoughts from my remarks on this celebratory occasion:

“Salpointe is a high school of distinction because of its students. Today we celebrate the excellence achieved by our Lancer students during the 2018-2019 school year in the classroom, on the playing fields and courts, on the stage, in national competitions…

Before we begin, I’d like to ask all Salpointe faculty and staff to stand. These are the professionals who have dedicated their lives to you … and to the fulfillment of your holistic education, helping you grow academically, artistically, spiritually, athletically, emotionally and socially. Please join me in giving these educators a rousing, heartfelt round of applause.

And now, I sincerely congratulate each of you Lancers as you accept the high honors that you have earned. Yes, earned. These accolades did not come easily … nothing of merit ever does. We recognize that your success did not just happen. You are honored today because of decisions you made and promises you kept over the past many years: commendable decisions to study with effectiveness and zeal; decisions to set lofty goals and to work hard to achieve them; decisions to pursue excellence rather than accept mediocrity.

With this high honor comes parallel responsibility: responsibility to use -- and to share -- your God-given talents and gifts for the good of our world; the responsibility to be a role model for your fellow Lancers, for your family and for your friends. What you say and what you do matters. Others will always be watching you … and they will follow you. What an opportunity you have to act for goodness, justice and integrity, to be a man or woman for others, to hold your head high and be proud of the exemplary decisions you will continue to make.

May God continue to bless you and keep you … and may you, in turn, be His eyes, His ears, His hands, His voice and His heart to others. You are the epitome of what it means to be a Lancer.”

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I congratulate these students and all of our Lancers who aspire to academic excellence, demonstrate leadership, practice Carmelite values, model good citizenship and honor the dignity of everyone they meet.

May our hearts welcome the transformational power of the resurrected Jesus Christ, our Savior, this Easter.
