University of Arizona
Bob Logan '75 presented a lecture as part of the "Living Healthy with Arthritis" series hosted by the University of Arizona Arthritis Center.
His lecture was titled "Happiness: Why is it elusive for so many of us?" Bob elaborated on eight scientifically-proven techniques to create balance and purpose in one's life. Bob Logan provides insight on how to push our own boundaries and approach life from a different perspective. A lifelong educator, he artfully teaches the intricate balancing act of life, empowering us to live in a different way.

The stresses of aging, chronic pain, dealing with disease and life's day-to-day challenges can put us on the never-ending treadmill of trying to attain happiness. Intrigued by this phenomenon, the UA's Bob Logan embarked on a scientific journey to answer this question in the pursuit of happiness. In this presentation, participants uncovered the secrets to happiness through meaningful practice and thoughtful changes that can lead to a happier life.

Bob has walked many paths in life, both literally and figuratively. He believes wholeheartedly in the transformative power of embracing change. It is that concept that has become the cornerstone of his message ... take the road less traveled, and you will marvel about what you learn from the people, places and opportunities along the journey.

A renaissance man, Bob's life experiences have taken him from teaching high school history to selling multimillion-dollar mainframe computers for AT&T; from coaching in multiple NCAA Division I football bowl games to being the head coach of an Italian football team in Bologna, Italy; finally, to raising millions of dollars of philanthropy to helping with missions landing on Mars and near-Earth asteroids.

A native Tucsonan, Bob has served at the University of Arizona and the UA Foundation in a development & external relations capacity for the past 28 years. He currently serves as Assistant Dean for External & Corporate Relations in the UA College of Science and is responsible for corporate relations, internship programs, technology transfer initiatives and social media strategies.
