A Message from President Kay Sullivan

Dear Salpointe Community,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May God bless you this sacred season with the love of family and friends and may He embrace you in 2020 with gratitude, balance and good health!

Please join me in congratulating our Principal, Sr. Helen Timothy, IBVM, on being appointed to a national leadership position in her religious order, the Loretto Sisters. Sr. Helen has served Salpointe for the past eight and a half years. I am very proud of Sr. Helen as she says “yes” to her calling, as this high honor is the culmination of a life dedicated to her order, her church and her faith. Sr. Helen will leave Salpointe Catholic on December 20 and assume her new position in Chicago in January 2020.

Salpointe is a better place today because of Sr. Helen. She has served the Salpointe community with love, compassion and pastoral care, championing the sacred mission of our school. She has given this job her all, leading with commanding strength, organizational and planning mastery, holistic educational experience and a clear vision for the future. She and I have worked side by side as loyal, dynamic partners and I am forever grateful to her!

I am pleased to announce that Keith Gibalski, current Assistant Principal for Faculty Development and Instruction, has accepted the position of Interim Principal from December 21 to mid-July. I have every confidence in Keith’s leadership as we continue to build on Salpointe’s high standards, Carmelite values and culture of inclusivity. Please welcome Keith as he accepts this challenging role.

During this time of transition, please know that the Carmelites, the Board of Directors, and our faculty and staff have every confidence in Salpointe’s bright future. Salpointe is much bigger and stronger than any one person. It is an institution of grand legacy with a promising future. We are blessed with a highly qualified, stable faculty and staff; full student enrollment; a strong financial position; well maintained, effective facilities; a carefully crafted and highly efficient infrastructure … and you, our loyal, supportive parents, past parents and alums.

Thank you for your support as we meet Salpointe’s bright future together!

Sincerely,

Kay Sullivan
President
