Carmelite Board of Members Evaluates the School

Salpointe welcomed the Carmelite Board of Members for their tri-annual evaluation of the school, conducted on Thursday, November 14, and Friday, November 15. The Carmelite Board of Members is charged with ensuring that the purpose, philosophy and mission of the school are maintained. They interviewed and surveyed the faculty, staff, parents and students to discuss these areas.

At the Nov. 15 Board of Directors meeting, Fr. Bill Harry, O.Carm., Prior Provincial of the Carmelites noted that he and the Board of Members were very impressed with Salpointe's commitment to its Carmelite mission. Fr. Bill introduced the Carmelite Board of Members and gave a brief description of the duties of the Carmelite Board of Members.

Faculty and staff members and senior students were interviewed by Fr. Quinn Conners, Fr. Paul Henson, Fr. Bill Harry, Fr. Emilio Rodriguez Mendoza and Fr. Carl Markelz. A survey was emailed to the current Salpointe parent population.

Fr. Bill expressed that the overall experience was very positive. He was pleased to report that the students seem to be very aware of and can verbalize what Salpointe is about in terms of mission and values and the Carmelite connection. An evaluation report will be presented to the school in the near future.
