Football: 2020 Conference Alignments Are Set

All Sports Tucson
All appeals have been exhausted and the football conferences for next fall have been set by the AIA. With the addition of Mica Mountain in the Vail School District, there are now 39 teams playing football in Southern Arizona.

Mica Mountain will compete in the 4A Conference and Salpointe moved up to 5A for football. Empire was initially placed in the 5A Conference but a compromise on their appeal down to the 3A level has the Ravens competing at the 4A level.

The 3A Conference will only have three schools from the Tucson area with Tanque Verde and Catalina moving down to compete at the 2A level. San Manual will be shifting to 8-man football at the 1A level.

Several schools will compete in different conferences for other sports. Sports with individual competition will be handled separately.
