Salpointe Sweethearts for Over 60 Years!

Here is some recent news from four Class of 1957 alumni, Bob and Joan Carlucci Stapleton (right) and Dick and Carmine Cavaliere Adamcin (left). The Stapletons live in Tucson and the Adamcins in Chula Vista, a suburb of San Diego. Both couples have stayed in touch through the years and have recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. Congratulations to these Salpointe sweethearts!

A couple of recent pictures have been uncovered, one showing Bob and Joan celebrating their anniversary, and Dick and Carmine at a gathering with friends, reminiscing about high school years. Dick brought out his letterman sweater (which still fits), and an album of newspaper clippings Carmine kept for him during that last football season.

They fondly remember those great years. Salpointe was a fledgling school in those days. All the teachers were nuns, except for religion classes, which were conducted by the priests. Hey girls, remember the nuns keeping track of those hemlines (slightly above the ankles)? And how about those lovely new maroon and gold gym suits with the bloomer-style legs? Our knees actually got to show! And, hey guys, how about that Class of '57 senior boys retreat in Scottsdale, Arizona? (Well, they let us graduate anyway.) Then there was Father Alvin, roaming the dance floor with his flashlight, making sure none of us were dancing too close. What great memories!

We pray that all our classmates stay well during these difficult times.
