Philabaum Glass Gallery: A Lancer Tradition

As Southern Arizona’s only all-glass art gallery, Philabaum Glass Gallery has been a staple in the Tucson community since 1982. Tom Philabaum (Salpointe faculty in 1978) opened the gallery in 1982 on Congress Street. Since 1985, Philabaum Glass Gallery has been in its current location just south of downtown Tucson at Five Points. Over 50 artists from across the country are represented in all styles and techniques of glass, ranging from small gifts to large sculptures.

Since 2010, Alison Prendergast Harvey ‘01 has managed the gallery. She earned a BA in Art History from the University of Arizona in 2006 and enthusiastically shares her love and knowledge of art. Alison and her husband Dylan Harvey, both Tucson natives, have three small children, ages 5, 3 and 7 months, all of whom "worked" alongside Allison in the gallery as babies.

In October 2020, Tom and his wife Dabney officially retired from a long and fruitful career and Alison and Dylan purchased the gallery. Often referred to as one of the best contemporary glass galleries in the country, Philabaum Glass is truly a gem in the desert.
