COVID Case Update
The Salpointe community continues to be impacted by COVID-19. We ask you to please pray for the family of a current Lancer student who lost his father to COVID this week. We offer the old prayer for the repose of your loved one's soul. Eternal Rest, grant to them, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Salpointe has seven additional positive cases since January 22. The cheer team is in quarantine until February 10 due to an exposure.

Salpointe is working to keep our community safe and we appreciate your support. Click here for more information. We ask you to insist that Lancers follow prescribed health and safety protocols. Please honestly report all COVID exposures and confirmed cases to Salpointe’s health office at kkohnke@salpointe.org or 520-547-9395.

College Counseling
Junior Announcements
Counselors have met with juniors to talk about college plans, both in their theology classes and during after school meetings this past week. Any juniors who missed these conversations should watch the recordings posted in their Google Classroom (Future Plans Class of 2022). At this time of the semester, we recommend that juniors explore possible college majors, research colleges, sign up for SAT and ACT tests and talk with parents about paying for college

Parents of juniors are invited to Chat with the College Counselors next Tuesday, February 9 from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. We’ll talk briefly about the upcoming Naviance assignment for juniors and have an informal question/answer session. Parents of juniors can join at this link: Chat with the College Counselors

Juniors, the required Junior Naviance Assignment is due by midnight on Friday, February 12. This counts as a grade in theology and will be used in your college planning meetings with counselors. Contact Mrs. McCall, Mr. Urbanski or Mrs. Ossowski with any questions.

Launch Pad Education is an online company that provides test prep and tutoring specifically designed for students with special learning needs. They provide one-on-one instruction with a tutor educated in psychology and/or special education. This can be helpful for students with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities, anxiety and executive function difficulties. Details at: http://www.launchpadeducation.com/.

SAT and ACT testing for juniors: Some colleges plan to continue with “test optional” admissions where test scores are not required, and other colleges will require students to take either the SAT or ACT tests for admission or scholarships. It’s going to be a mix of both. To keep all of your opportunities open, Mrs. Ossowski recommends that juniors plan to take both the SAT and ACT this spring. If you feel comfortable, we recommend you register for the March 13 SAT and the February 6 ACT test to get started. Find important testing information at SAT / ACT Overview and Dates.
