Letter to Lancer Families Regarding Spring Activities

March 24, 2021

Dear Lancer Families,

We welcome new beginnings as spring arrives here in the Old Pueblo! We especially look forward to the 2021-22 school year: on campus, in person, five days a week! We can’t wait to once again provide the signature Salpointe experience for every Lancer.

For now, Salpointe is increasingly filled with energy and joy as more students return to on-campus learning. Last week, in response to decreasing community COVID transmission metrics in Pima County and changing CDC guidelines allowing for three feet of social distancing between desks, we updated distancing guidelines on our campus. We are thrilled to accommodate our Lancers in every classroom with no overflow of students. During lunch, we will maintain six feet of social distancing. Masks and other health and safety protocols will continue to be mandated on campus.

Pima County Health Department is now offering COVID vaccinations for persons 16 and older. Dr. Richard Carmona, former Surgeon General of the United States and Salpointe past parent, strongly encourages all eligible students and adults to get vaccinated. We support this position.

We invite Lancers to return to on-campus learning as soon as they are safely able to do so. Every student will benefit from the interaction with faculty and the connection with their classmates.

Salpointe is ready to share important graduation information: Senior parents will receive a letter this week and senior students have class meetings this Friday, March 26 at 8:00 a.m.

Upcoming activities (some with limited attendance) include:
  • Powder Puff Football - March 25 and 26
  • Kairos Retreats - March 25-28, April 15-18 and May 17-20
  • Salpointe Gives Day - April 1
  • Confirmation - April 13

  • Class of 2021 Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement

Thank you for your patience, flexibility and support as we adjusted to digital life during a global pandemic. In spite of the daily uncertainty and challenges, you and your family demonstrated resilience, collaboration, courage, problem solving and understanding as we navigated some tough times together. As true Lancers, you faced each day with a reliance on prayer, in service to each other and mindful of the safety of our wider community.

Again, thank you for your continued support.
