End of Year Message from SCHS President Kay Sullivan
Dear Lancer Families,

We are glad to put the 2020-2021 school year in the rear view mirror! We look forward to embracing normalcy in August, with mask free, on-campus education and no requirements for distancing!

And while I am enthusiastic about 2021-2022, my heart goes out to every Lancer as we look back on the past fifteen months. I recognize that you have suffered mightily and that you did not have the opportunity to participate 100% in the signature Salpointe high school experience. We worked hard to provide it with instructional creativity and technology, by maintaining athletic competitions, and by offering reimagined Kairos retreats, class masses, theatrical performances, freshman frolic, sophomore and junior movie nights, senior sunrise breakfast, prom and graduation. It wasn’t easy for anyone and there were disappointments along the way.

Through it all, please know that our goal was to achieve balance, health and safety for the whole community: our students, our faculty and staff, and our Tucson community. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigated uncharted territory.

Lancers, do not let this period of adversity define you or derail you. Dig deeply and depend on your God to inspire you and embrace you as you move forward in your life. Click here to continue reading President Sullivan's message...

Get the Vaccine!
As Salpointe prepares for the 2021-2022 school year, we look forward to having all students return to campus for in-person learning. As part of the return to a traditional educational environment, we strongly encourage all students and teachers/staff to get the COVID-19 vaccination. If/when your student(s) receives the vaccine, here are step-by-step instructions to upload the vaccination card to MyPointe.

Please visit the CDC Youth Vaccine Recommendation webpage for more information on the COVID-19 vaccination. Please see the Pima County COVID-19 webpage for a list of vaccine locations.

Senior Bragsheet Assignment: The assignment is posted in your Future Plans Class of 2022 Google Classroom. This work is designed to help you formulate a plan for life after graduation from Salpointe. This is a required summer assignment due August 20 or earlier if possible.

Rising Juniors and seniors: This summer is a great time to explore colleges. Ten of the top public research universities around the country will present a virtual program in early June. This is an opportunity to engage with admission experts to learn how to effectively search for and compare colleges, pay for your education, and find the academic and student experience that is right for you. Universities participating include CU-Boulder, Oregon, Clemson, ASU, Penn State, UT-Austin, UCSD, Illinois and more. Register for The Terrific 10 College Exploration Series

The Flinn Scholars Program invites sophomores and juniors to see their virtual information session over the summer. This will provide valuable background about this competitive scholarship for high-achieving AZ students who plan to attend UA, ASU or NAU. The merit-based scholarship covers tuition, fees, housing and meals, plus at least two study-abroad experiences. The overall financial package is valued at more than $120,000. They seek very high academic achievement, significant leadership in extracurricular activities, and purposeful involvement in community or school service. They are specifically looking for students in the top 5% of their class, which would be approximately above 4.1 weighted Salpointe GPA. students. No SAT or ACT scores are needed.
