Salpointe Catholic 2021-2022 Back to School Protocols

July 29, 2021

Dear Salpointe Students and Families,

The health and safety of Salpointe’s students, families, faculty, staff and community are among our highest priorities. We are finalizing 21-22 back-to-school COVID protocols and will send more information to you early next week.

As we develop these protocols, we are considering recent changes to COVID guidelines provided by the CDC, Arizona Department of Health Services and Pima County Department of Health, as well as the vaccination rate of the Salpointe student body, faculty and staff.

You can help boost the immunity of the Salpointe community by getting your student vaccinated. Vaccination is the leading public health strategy to protect your student and end the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please get your student vaccinated, then upload a photo of the vaccine card to their myPointe account (instructions below). This will help us determine the level of immunity on our campus. Our goal is at least a 90% vaccination rate; we have achieved this rate with faculty/staff and we’d like to exceed it with students. Even if your student had a positive COVID test in the past, get a vaccination.

Salpointe, in cooperation with the Pima County Health Department, will offer vaccination clinics on campus on Saturday, August 7 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturday, August 28 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This service is free and open to your family and friends. Please note, children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent to receive a vaccination. Park in the Glenn Street lot and come to the Sayre Stevens Student Center.

To encourage a high level of immunity on campus, we are offering valuable incentives to students who have been vaccinated and have uploaded their vaccination card to myPointe: a raffle with prizes that include one month’s tuition credit or $1000 cash, a reserved parking space for the 21-22 school year, tickets to prom, Spirit Store gift cards, a Quarterback Club membership and more!

The social, emotional and physical well-being of our students, as well as their academic success and extracurricular participation, are again at risk due to the surge in COVID cases. We encourage you to seek the guidance of your healthcare professional and get your student vaccinated as soon as possible!

Sincerely,

Kay Sullivan       Keith Gibalski

How to Upload COVID-19 Vaccination Card to MyPointe

Salpointe Catholic looks forward to having all students return to campus for in-person learning in August. We will not require COVID-19 vaccinations this fall, but we strongly encourage students and teachers/staff to get vaccinated. Please use this student vaccination verification database to upload your student’s vaccination card. This data will help determine our community’s progress in reaching a safe level of immunity on campus and help us determine who should be quarantined in the event of an outbreak. Vaccination cards can only be uploaded using parent myPointe accounts.

1. Scan and save the front of your vaccination card.
2. Sign into myPointe.
3. Click on the yellow banner: “Checklist to Review.”

4. Choose file/image of the vaccination card and upload it.

5. Once the file is uploaded, you will see “submitted.” Thank you for helping keep the Salpointe community safe!

If you have trouble uploading your student’s COVID-19 vaccination card to myPointe, you or your student can bring the card to the Advancement Office (Room 606). We will scan it and upload it for you. Thank you!
