Student Services

Early Dismissal Pickup
Parents, if you are picking up your student after 2:30 p.m. on a regular schedule day or after 2:00 p.m. on a block day, please do so on Copper St. in front of the main administrative building. Students will check out with Student Services and then hand their dismissal pass to the person in the front office (located next to Freshman Patio). This is to avoid the traffic coming into the Glenn parking lot at the end of the school day.  Please remember to call and/or leave a voicemail at least one hour ahead of time to allow us to dismiss your student from class.

Community of Concern
Salpointe’s Community of Concern is an integral part of our substance abuse prevention and issues education program. Parents/Guardian presentations are held to provide important information on teenage issues, substance abuse and to improve communication between each other. Parents/Guardians are required to attend two meetings over a four year period. Once during the freshman/sophomore year of their student and once during the junior/senior year.

Our first presentation this year will be held on Friday, September 10 in the Foundation Hall. This is a special opportunity for freshmen parents to attend with the Freshmen Dance being held on the same date and during the same time frame of 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can drop off your student for the dance, attend the presentation and pick up your student afterward.

Our teachers and counselors recognize the long-term effects of the last year and half on our students. We are seeing an increase in academic, social and mental health concerns. We want to share those observations with you and make sure that we are working together, both at school and at home, to help our young people readjust to full-time school.

The topics for the evening will cover;
  • Recognizing and assisting our students who are struggling academically, socially or mentally
  • New Counseling and Campus Ministry programs that will help address those issues
  • How counselors, teachers and parents can best work together
  • Resources for parents
Character Counts
This past week our Character Commentaries during homeroom focused on values and ethics. Stella Fina explained the meaning of having values and the importance of being consistent in our actions when it comes to things we say we value (Personal Values). Omar Monreal focused on the topic of ethics and explained the important difference between values and ethics (Values vs. Ethics). Follow the links to read the full commentary!

UA’s scholarships and financial aid information is also available to view for the 2022-2023 academic year, as is NAU’s tuition scholarships. Seniors can get an idea of the merit-based tuition scholarships they may qualify for, and are automatically considered for scholarships upon admission. A separate application is not required.

Mrs. McCall enjoyed meeting with Seniors during their Theology classes this week. We discussed college applications and set up Naviance and Common App accounts so students are ready to start their applications.
