Salpointe Weekly Peek - January 21, 2022

Happy Friday, Lancers!

This week's prayer from St. John of the Cross is shared (in both Spanish and English) by Fr. Manu, O. Carm.:
Grant me, O Christ
the desire to imitate you in all my actions.
Enlighten my spirit, so that by contemplating you
I may live the way you lived.
Help me, Lord, to give up what does not honor and glorify God.
This I ask in your love, Jesus
since in your life you only followed the will of your Father.
Make me serve you with pure and sincere love,
without seeking personal gratification or success.
May I serve you and love you, oh Jesus,
without any other purpose
than your honor and your glory.
Amen.
Saint John of the Cross.
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us.

Concédeme o Cristo
un constante deseo de imitarte
en todas mis acciones.
Ilumina mi espíritu,
para que contemplando tu ejemplo,
aprenda a vivir como tú has vivido.
Ayúdame, Señor, a renunciar
San Juan the la Cruz
