March 10, 2022
Dear Salpointe Family,
It’s another great day to be a Lancer! Whether you live across the country or right down the street, we invite you to engage with us here at Salpointe. Haven’t visited campus in a while? There is so much to see! Since 2014, Salpointe has completed two major capital projects that have enhanced every area and program here on campus. Stop by for a visit or click
here to take a virtual tour and see our new Stearns Center for the Arts, Sayre Stevens Student Center, Cracchiolo STEM Center, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Chapel and more.
We are proud to offer the signature Salpointe experience. Here are a few examples of Lancer Life 2022. The heart of Salpointe, our Catholic faith, continues to energize and inspire our community. We pray together daily and come together for Mass regularly. Underclassmen focused on “The Passion, Death and Resurrection of the Lord” and “Our Lives and the Paschal Mystery” during Days of Recollection. Upperclassmen are discovering a renewed love for their faith, their community and themselves during the Kairos retreat. Guided by the Holy Spirit and embracing our Carmelite Catholicity, we honor the dignity of every person and we care for God’s creation: two hallmarks of our Lancer values. Please continue to pray for our students as they embrace these next steps in their spiritual journey.
Our performing and visual arts departments are thriving. We invite you to see Salpointe’s talented Thespians perform the musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors in Corcoran Theater on March 25-27 and April 1-3. Alumni Night is March 26, although all are invited to any performance. This fun show blends doo-wop, rock, and Motown tunes into a touching and totally-twisted, monster of a hit. To purchase tickets, please visit
https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/60932. Stop by to visit the Stevens Gallery to see Cuentos: Life Stories, curated by visiting artist Ruben Urrea Moreno and featuring the art of Mel Dominguez and Rachel Espinoza as well as Salpointe students. The show runs from March 8 to April 9.
Our STEM students continue to impress with their creativity, ingenuity and skill. Their innovative projects will be on display at the STEM Showcase on April 28 at 2:30pm in the Kai STEM Patio. Come by to see award-winning solar karts, scientific discoveries, engineering projects and more! Or head out to Musselman Honda Circuit on Saturday, April 23, to watch our Lancers compete in Racing the Sun.
Student athletes make us proud by practicing the Lancer values of teamwork, sportsmanship and hard work. Outstanding student effort and excellent coaching have resulted in four state championships so far this year: women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and for the first time in Lancer history, women’s basketball! Congratulations, athletes! Lancer baseball, softball and men’s volleyball games are live-streamed this season on the NFHS Network. Click
here for more information. If you’re in Tucson, please come by and watch all of our spring teams compete: tennis, lacrosse, track and field, baseball, softball and men’s volleyball.
We at Salpointe are forever grateful for your partnership as we continue to build our community and to fulfill our mission.
I wish you a prayerful and reflective Lent and a joyful and celebratory Easter season.
