Salpointe Weekly Peek - August 26, 2022

Happy Friday, Lancers!

This week’s prayer is from Assistant Principal Tony Gerrettie:

Loving God,
We give thanks and praise for the gifts of another great week at Salpointe Catholic High School. We acknowledge your presence and support in all that we encounter on campus and in our lives. We ask for your protection and blessings over the weekend. Give us the recovery and energy to return to school on Monday with the zeal for another successful week. Amen. Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.

PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Back to School Night
Greetings Lancers,
We are looking forward to our Back to School Night this coming Monday, August 29 beginning at 5:00 pm in Foundation Hall. This is your opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and hear directly from them on how you can best support your Lancer.
This evening you will actually “walk” your child’s schedule, so please be sure to either have your child’s schedule printed or have access to it via myPointe from your smartphone. Please be aware, parking will be tight due to the Women's Volleyball game taking place at the same time. Read the Back to School Night agenda here. We look forward to seeing you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Martin

Notice from Attendance Office
If you need to take your student off campus for an appointment, please notify Student Services at 520-327-1990 at least 90 minutes prior to desired dismissal time.

Student Parking, Drop Off and Pickup
Parents and students: The first two weeks of school have gone exceedingly well. As you can see, pick up time at school, particularly in the Glenn Street lot, is extremely busy. To help alleviate some of the traffic congestion, please do not arrive to pickup your student any earlier than 15 minutes before the final school bell.

Students: If you are parking anywhere on campus, including the lot next to the softball field or the gravel lot on Cherry Ave./Glenn St. make sure your vehicle has a parking pass. Parking passes are available for purchase in the Spirit Store for $20. Failure to have a pass on display can result in a citation.

Copper St./Cherry Ave. Parking Lot: This lot is reserved for faculty and staff only. Students may not park in this lot and will be cited or have vehicle towed. Also, do not use this lot as a student drop off/pick up location. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rise Above
Salpointe Catholic is grateful for the calls, notes and prayers we’ve received since the fire on campus on July 17. Many of you have asked how you can help. The outpouring of love and generosity has warmed our hearts and strengthened our resolve as we recover from this senseless crime. Salpointe Catholic intends to “rise above” this challenge, think big and take this opportunity to rebuild … and to build for the future. In response to your many offers of assistance, we are creating the Rise Above fund. While insurance will cover most restoration and reconstruction costs, we plan to replace the 700 English wing with dynamic new learning spaces, meeting both the immediate and long term needs of our Lancers, and enhancing Salpointe’s bright future. Community Book Drive to Restock Shelves at Salpointe
