Salpointe Weekly Peek - September 9, 2022

Happy Friday, Lancers!

This week’s prayer is from Salpointe World Language Teacher, Natalia Owens:
Dear Lord,
Thank you for allowing us to be together again; please guide us so we can make every day together count. Amen. Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.

PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Dear Parents,
This week during homeroom we watched a reflective video regarding the influence of social media and our obsession with our cell phones. I ask that you watch the video linked below. We as adults need this reminder too.

Is Technology our Friend or Foe?
• Prince EA – “Can We Auto-Correct Humanity?”

Sincerely,

Come to the Football Fling!
Are you planning to go to the first varsity home football game on September 16? If so, join us in Alumni Hall for an after-game luau dance. The entrance fee will be $5. Dress in your best casual Hawaiian themed attire. Doors will open as soon as the game finishes and will last until midnight. We will provide water, snacks and Eegees. Eegees will be sold for $1. Make sure to bring cash to pay for both your entrance and your Eegees, as we will only be taking cash.
See you there!

Character Counts
Our focus in our Character Counts commentaries this week continued with the theme of character. On Wednesday, Rylen Bourguet started by providing different notions of the word "character". Character, as part of ones integrity, is not something inherited but something that grows in how one thinks and acts each day (Defining Character). On Thursday, Albert Ortiz talked about the importance of intent. All true acts of integrity involve doing it for the right reasons (The Importance of Intent). Follow the links to read the full commentaries!
