Salpointe Weekly Peek - October 28, 2022

Happy Friday, Lancers!

This week’s prayer is from Mrs. Urbanski's Theology class:
Dear God, thank you for giving us another day in this beautiful world with this amazing community that will always be here for all of us. Thank you for the teachers that help us learn, the staff that helps maintain our school and especially for our friends and family. Sometimes life is difficult, God, so I ask that you give us the determination to go through hard times because we know you are always there. Amen. Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Pray for us.

PLEASE READ THESE IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Dear Parents,
I would like to start by saying how incredibly proud I am of all of our Lancers. From the pep assembly to volunteering throughout homecoming weekend, our Lancers shined. Halloween is Monday and we welcome our students to dress up if they would like. Please note the following restrictions for dressing up on Halloween:
  • Masks can be worn, but nothing too gory or offensive and must be removed during class.
  • Face painting will be allowed, but nothing too gory or offensive.
  • Be ethically and morally appropriate; nothing offensive (i.e. no prisoner costumes).
  • No inappropriate or sexually suggestive costumes.
  • No tank tops, crop tops, or bare midriffs.
  • Props are allowed but are not to be a distraction during class. Weapons of any kind will not be allowed (i.e. swords, guns, water guns, or any other weapons).
  • If you wear tights or a Morph suit, you MUST also wear basketball shorts over them.
  • Skirts must be longer than your fingertips and you must wear leggings or tights underneath.
  • All costumes must be readily recognizable as such (i.e. you can’t dress like a public school student).
Have a great and safe weekend!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Martin
Proud Principal

Note: The November presentation is the same as the one in August.

Character Counts
Sevilla talked about the importance of meaningful apologies. Real apologies involve more than words and require a person to take personal responsibility (A Meaningful Apology). On Wednesday, Albert reflected on unwanted events that are inevitable in life and our response to those events. It's important to learn from the past but not be overwhelmed by it (Twists and Turns in Life). Follow the links to read the full commentaries!
