Letter to Salpointe Families - February 3, 2023

February 3, 2023

Dear Salpointe Families,

We hope that you and your student are having a joyful 2023 and that you are fully engaged in this spring semester at Salpointe!

Re-enrollment contract letters for the 2023-2024 school year were sent to all families on Tuesday. We look forward to another successful school year with your Lancer and ask that you complete the re-enrollment process by Monday, February 27.

As outlined in the contract, Salpointe Catholic is raising tuition 10% in the 2023-2024 school year, from $10,600 to $11,660. We want to let you know the reasons for this tuition increase.

1. Teacher salaries and benefits. The school strives to provide competitive, fair and just compensation to our teachers and staff. We typically raise tuition by 2-3% and try to raise salaries by a similar amount. We are now falling behind some local districts and we don’t want to lose our valued employees; therefore, we plan to raise salaries as much as possible and provide a stronger benefits package, including 401K, health insurance, etc.

2. With the availability of the Universal Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA), every student qualifies for approximately $8000+ in state funds, lessening the tuition burden on the family. These funds are not dependent on financial need; families qualify for funding by completing a simple application. Please note that School Tuition Organization (STO) individual and/or corporate tuition assistance (such as CTSO, ALF, IBE, ACT, etc.) is available for those who qualify as well. Please contact Salpointe’s Financial Aid Manager at 520-547-9366 or accountmgmt@salpointe.org or visit https://www.azed.gov/esa/frequently-asked-questions

3. Salpointe’s tuition is one of the lowest among private schools in Tucson and Southern Arizona, yet our instructional, academic, spiritual, artistic, athletic and student services programs are exceptional. We want to continue to serve these holistic needs of our Lancer students and it takes significant financial resources to do so.

4. Inflation: our cost of simply doing business is higher than ever, as is everyone’s.

We have confidence that this increase will not be an annual occurrence. Please contact us if you have further questions or concerns.
