Re-Enrollment Contract
On February 1, 2023, we posted the re-enrollment contract in your myPointe account so that you can register your student for next year. In order to guarantee your student’s place here on campus, please complete the re-enrollment contract by Monday, February 27, 2023. Should you have any questions, contact Mrs. Dorothy Greer in the Finance Office at dgreer@salpointe.org.
 
Early Dismissal/Leaving Campus
Students are required to provide the Attendance Office (Student Services Center) with notification via note or phone call from the parent/guardian prior to leaving campus. Students MAY NOT leave campus without clearance by the Health or Attendance Office. Parents may not remove a student from campus without prior notification to the Attendance Office. Students being picked up with a dismissal slip should report to the Attendance Office (Student Services Center). Violation of this policy may result in an unexcused absence and disciplinary consequences may be imposed.
 
All early dismissal requests will be retrieved from voicemail. Please be sure to give at least a two hour notice for your request to be processed. We do not have an intercom system, we have TAs taking passes to class to get students dismissed.

Salpointe Thrift Shop in Need of Donations
Salpointe Thrift Shop is always in need of donations. Donations can be dropped off at 1705 E. Fort Lowell Rd. Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call (520) 327-5576 if you have any questions.
 
Summer Opportunities for Students
There are many summer opportunities at colleges across the country and abroad available for high school students to take classes, live on campus and learn from professors in a variety of exciting fields. The Summer College Opportunities document is updated regularly as colleges provide their summer program details. Some deadlines are as early as Feb, so now is the time to check it out. Seeking donations for the Lady Lancer raffle baskets
The Lady Lancer committee is seeking donations for raffle baskets. If you'd like to donate an item, please fill out this sign-up sheet. All donations are due by Monday, February 27. Local Scholarship Opportunities
Desert Financial Community Service Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes and rewards exceptional students who have contributed 50 or more hours of service in their community. Scholarship amounts range from $2,500 to $10,000 and are available to students planning to attend an Arizona college. Deadline to apply is March 1. For more details, click here.
 
Hughes Federal Credit Union
The Roberta Reeves Memorial Scholarship awards this scholarship to local high school seniors on their higher education path toward a better tomorrow. Several $2,000 scholarships will be awarded based on creativity while addressing this year’s scholarship topic question (in essay or video format): If you could create a youth financial app, what features would you include? What name would you give the app? Deadline to apply is March 15. For more details, click here.

Junior Get Out of Town Workshop
There are two upcoming options to attend our Get Out of Town Workshop for this semester: March 4th, 3-4:30 p.m. or March 25th, 3-4:30 p.m. There will be another one offered in the fall. There are many steps in the process for students who are applying out of state, and we all need to be on the same page! Register here.
 
Hispanic Scholarship Fund: Youth Leadership Institute (YLI)
YLI is a free, college empowerment program for high-achieving Latino high school juniors, held virtually and at two top universities: USC & U Chicago. This highly selective program is designed to give young leaders the practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial aid opportunities and set a course for academic and career success. Attendees will enhance their leadership abilities and expand their professional networks by participating in college and career workshops and by interacting with college students and professionals who serve as their mentors. Kickstart Your College Application Process
Get a head start on your College Applications and Personal Statements this summer! Kickstart U will again hold its College Application and Essay Workshop at Salpointe this summer. Kickstart U is an impactful program designed by Salpointe teacher Tim Evans and former Salpointe college counselor Lynn Ossowski to help you tell your unique story to colleges. You will benefit from individualized writing instruction and application coaching in an enthusiastic environment that promotes engagement, reflection, and creativity. The 4-day workshop will give you a head start on the application process, so you can enjoy a less stressful and cluttered senior year. Workshop Dates are May 22-May 25 and July 24-July 27. Financial Aid

Arizona Tuition Connection - Scholarship Coaching Session Wednesday, March 1 at 6:00 PM Do you have questions about what scholarships your family can receive? Learn how there are scholarships available for all students in low, medium and high income families. It is not too late to receive funding; Arizona Tuition Connection does not have any application deadlines! This one hour training will give you the education and tools you need to be successful in maximizing your scholarship awards. Every parent should plan on attending! We will meet on campus in the Click Family Library.
 
IBE Tax Credit Presentation Please join us on Tuesday, March 7, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Click Family Library for a presentation on Arizona Tax Credits given by the Institute for Better Education (IBE). IBE will provide helpful information on how to utilize the Arizona State Tax Credit Program to fund your student's tuition here at Salpointe. This presentation is open to all parents and/or any potential Tax Credit Donors looking for more information. 
 
Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR) 23/24 School year NOW OPEN! - Please be sure to apply at www.fairapp.com using Salpointe's School Code: 800 and School Password: ctso800. The deadline to apply for this current round is April 20. Please note: a new application must be submitted each school year. Although applications are submitted through FAIR, all funds come from Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO).
 
Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO) CTSO also accepts Arizona tax credit donations for Salpointe students through their referral program. In order for your student to receive CTSO Referral Funds, you must create a profile at https://referral.ctso-tucson.org/login and obtain an "RP #." Once you have your RP #, you can then provide it to potential donors. Donors must provide your RP # and school name to CTSO when donating. For families already registered, please be sure to submit new information and/or appropriate documents to CTSO each school year. For more information, please contact Amy Euler at 520-838-2534.

Arizona Tuition Connection (ATC) 22/23 School year - ATC accepts Arizona tax credit donations for Salpointe students. ATC also provides financial need-based awards throughout the school year. Please apply at arizonatuitionconnection.com. A new application must be completed each school year.
 
Arizona Leadership Foundation (ALF) 22/23 School year - Please visit the ALF website at arizonaleader.org to review eligibility requirements. If you meet the eligibility requirements, please contact Theresa Lehrling at accountmgmt@salpointe.org for details on how to apply. A new application must be completed each school year.
 
Institute for Better Education (IBE) 22/23 School year - IBE not only offers financial need-based awards, they also accept Arizona tax credit recommendations for Salpointe students. Please apply at ibescholarships.org. A new application must be completed each school year.
 
Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) Program
The Universal Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) is now officially an Arizona state law, allowing all families the opportunity to apply for ESA funds. These funds can be used to pay Salpointe tuition, regardless of home school district or annual income. The average ESA amount for the 2022-2023 school year is $7300 per student per year, awarded quarterly. Please note that ESA and tax credit funding cannot be used at the same time.
 
An ESA might benefit you if:
-You do not qualify for financial aid.
-You qualify for income-based tax credit funds but receive less than $7300/year in tax credit scholarships
 
An ESA will likely not benefit you if:
-You qualify for corporate tax credit funding.
 
The deadline to sign contracts for ESA funds for the third quarter is March 31, 2023. The application process can take up to 30 days so please apply at least one month prior to the deadline. Visit https://www.azed.gov/esa/frequently-asked-questions for more information. Student Services

Mandatory Student Service Hours
All students are required to complete 10 hours of service each year. The due date for hours to be completed and submitted is Monday, May 1, 2023. Students must submit their Service hours through their personal account in x2VOL. Submissions must also include a spiritual reflection. Athletics

2023 Baseball/Softball Game Entry
Salpointe Catholic has decided to start charging admission for Varsity baseball and softball games starting this season. When you come to the games this year, you will be welcomed by a ticket taker at each of the facility entrances (the SC gate for softball and the Gleeson gate for baseball). At each entrance we will have a sign with a QR Code that you will be able to scan and make your digital ticket purchase. Cash WILL NOT be accepted for entry into our games.
 
This new entry policy will begin on March 1 with our games against Catalina Foothills. To purchase tickets ahead of time, visit www.gofan.co, in the search bar type in Salpointe Catholic High School and our ticket page will pop up - select the date for the game you are attending and purchase your tickets. All tickets will be $5.
 
Salpointe students with their ID's will gain free entry. AIA Passes will also be accepted for entry into our games.

Top Lancer Distance runner commits to the UA
Michael Urbanski '23 committed to the University of Arizona Cross Country and Track and Field teams this week. One of the premier distance runners in the Southwest, Michael joins teammate Kyle Wild (Boston College) as the second current Lancer to commit to competing at the next level.
 
These two seniors will add to the growing list of Lancer track and field athletes in college- Diego Marquez '21, Ellie Tuck, '21, and Paris Mikinski '22 at the UA; Zoey Delgado '20 at University of San Diego; Wyatt Preble, '22 at Palm Beach Atlantic; Diego Delgado '22 at Western Colorado; Diego Logan-Behshad '22 at New Mexico State and Daniel Eisele '22 at Salisbury University.
