General Announcements:

Early Dismissal/Leaving Campus
Students are required to provide the Attendance Office (Student Services Center) with notification via note or phone call from the parent/guardian prior to leaving campus. Students MAY NOT leave campus without clearance by the Health or Attendance Office. Parents may not remove a student from campus without prior notification to the Attendance Office. Students being picked up with a dismissal slip should report to the Attendance Office (Student Services Center). Violation of this policy may result in an unexcused absence and disciplinary consequences may be imposed.
 
All early dismissal requests will be retrieved from voicemail. Please be sure to give at least a two hour notice for your request to be processed. We do not have an intercom system, we have TAs taking passes to class to get students dismissed.
 
Parking Permits
Attention All Student Drivers: Parking permits are SOLD OUT for the year. Students may park on the city streets surrounding Salpointe Catholic High School. Parking passes for the 23-24 school year will be available on August 1st through the Spirit Store.
 
AP (Advanced Placement) Testing Payment

Salpointe Thrift Store
The Salpointe Thrift Store is in need of gently-used household goods, clothing and furniture donations. Proceeds from the Thrift Store benefit Salpointe Catholic High School. The store is located at 1705 E. Ft. Lowell in Tucson (520-327-5576) and is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Donations are accepted during store hours. Pick-up service for large items is available by calling the store at 520-327-5576.
 
Panama Spring Break 2024
Did you hear about the great time our group of Lancers had in Costa Rica over Spring Break? We’re planning a trip to Panama with EF Tours, our educational travel partner for Spring Break 2024.  
 
Our information session will be in Foundation Hall on Tuesday, April 25th, at 6:00 p.m. We will talk about: How this opportunity will benefit your child; What we’ll see and do on our trip; Everything that’s included in this experience; How we’re keeping this safe and affordable; and How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period. St. Francis Shelter Service
St. Francis Shelter is seeking volunteers to help with digital endeavors. Join the team in room 205 to learn about how you can help out. Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 25 from 3:15-3:45 p.m. All service work is completed on campus or remotely.
 
UH-1 Helicopter visit to Salpointe
Katy Tenpenny, Salpointe Catholic ‘00 graduate and USAFA ‘05 graduate is the commander of a helicopter squadron based out of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She and her flight crew will be flying to and landing on the track at Salpointe on Thursday, April 27th during block lunches to showcase the UH-1N Huey as part of the Air Force’s Aviation Inspiration Mentorship Program. Students will be able to climb inside the helicopter and ask questions. We welcome Katy back to her alma mater and know she’ll inspire future aviators!
 
Parent Volunteers Needed to Proctor Finals
Interested in helping out during finals? Contact Mrs. Griffin to find out more about a unique volunteering opportunity during finals week (Seniors finals: 5/10-5/12, 9th-11th finals: 5/15-5/18)
 
Chromebook Repair Information
The Chromebook Repair Guide is a helpful resource for parents and students who need assistance with troubleshooting and repairing student-owned devices. This guide not only provides step-by-step instructions for fixing common issues but also includes information on how to send your Chromebook to Dell for repair if necessary (usually free of cost). Whether it's a problem with the screen, keyboard, or operating system, the guide can help you identify the issue and find the appropriate solution. please read the guide carefully and follow the instructions closely to ensure that the repair process is successful. Loaner Chromebooks are available in room 300 while repairs take place. If you have any questions along the way, please contact Marc Hermes at mhermes@salpointe.org.

Seniors

Class of 2023 Graduation Ticket Disbursement
Graduation tickets will be available for parents or students to pick up in the Glenn parking lot roundabout on Tuesday, May 2 and Wednesday, May 3 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Ticket packets will include three tickets to the Baccalaureate Mass (due to limited seating) and 20 tickets to the Commencement Ceremony. We do require a signature when parents or students pick up the tickets, as tickets cannot be replaced. Families may request additional tickets to the TCC by clicking here.
 
May 1: College Decision Day
May 1 is the national deadline to commit to a college. Seniors can wear college t-shirts on this day to represent their future college plans. Our seniors have been admitted to over 175 colleges and received over $20M in scholarships to date! Continue to send all decisions and scholarship offers to: college@salpointe.org.

Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR): Please be sure to apply at www.fairapp.com using Salpointe's School Code: 800 and School Password: ctso800. The deadline to apply for this current round is April 20. Please note: a new application must be submitted each school year. Although applications are submitted through FAIR, all funds come from Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO).
 
Arizona Leadership Foundation (ALF): 928.231.2122 - ALF offers Low Income Corporate and D/D awards. Please apply at www.arizonaleader.org. A new application must be submitted each school year.

Mandatory Student Service Hours
All students are required to complete 10 hours of service each year. The due date for hours to be completed and submitted is Monday, May 1, 2023. Students must submit their Service hours through their personal account in x2VOL. Submissions must also include a spiritual reflection. Racing the Sun Solar Kart Engineering Competition

UPDATE: STEM Arthropods Summer Camp for 7th & 8th Graders
Note: Dates have been updated. The Arthropods STEM Summer Camp is taking place on the Salpointe campus this summer for rising 7th and 8th graders. Salpointe faculty members will lead students on a fascinating journey in the study of ecology, evolution and behavior; mechanics and engineering; and biotechnology. Camp schedule is Monday, July 17 - Thursday, July 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration fee includes lunch Monday-Thursday. Preparing for a future as an NCAA student-athlete
High school student-athletes focused on playing their sport at the NCAA level won't want to miss this informative hour with the Eligibility Center staff on Sunday, April 30. Learn about next steps, based on your year in high school and how the removal of standardized test score requirements may impact your eligibility experience. Parents are encouraged to join. Salpointe Cheerleading and Pomline coaches will be holding an informational meeting Thursday, April 27th in the Click Library at 6:00 p.m. Please join us if you are interested in either spirit program. Gymnast Ava Torres shines at Regional Championships
Ava Torres, Class of 2026, recently competed at the gymnastics Regional Championships in Reno, NV. As a Level 8 gymnast, she earned the title of Floor and Beam Regional Gold medalist, and achieved her personal best scores in both events. She also earned a Bronze medal in vault. She will move on to National Championships next. Congratulations Ava!

Fine Arts

The Rootin’ Tootin’ Tale of Little Red Riding Boots  
Closing our season with The Rootin’ Tootin’ Tale of Little Red Riding Boots. A fun way to end our season something for the whole family to enjoy! Spring Fine Arts Festival
Join us for an evening of art and music on Wednesday, April 26th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. in the Corcoran Theater. Listen to the beautiful sounds of the Concert Choir, Maroon & Gold Jazz Band, Concert & Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and String Orchestra. Meet and greet the visual artists and see their expressive art in the Stevens Gallery, featuring students from 2D & 3D Art as well as Advanced Photography. An evening showcasing the culminated skills of our creative Lancers. See you there!
