Salpointe Thrift Store
The Salpointe Thrift Store is in need of gently-used household goods, clothing and furniture donations. Proceeds from the Thrift Store benefit Salpointe Catholic High School. The store is located at 1705 E. Ft. Lowell in Tucson (520-327-5576) and is open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Donations are accepted during store hours. Pick-up service for large items is available by calling the store at 520-327-5576.
 
Chromebook Repair Information
The Chromebook Repair Guide is a helpful resource for parents and students who need assistance with troubleshooting and repairing student-owned devices. This guide not only provides step-by-step instructions for fixing common issues but also includes information on how to send your Chromebook to Dell for repair if necessary (usually free of cost). Whether it's a problem with the screen, keyboard, or operating system, the guide can help you identify the issue and find the appropriate solution. please read the guide carefully and follow the instructions closely to ensure that the repair process is successful. Loaner Chromebooks are available in room 300 while repairs take place. If you have any questions along the way, please contact Marc Hermes at mhermes@salpointe.org.
 
Book Swap
Save the date for our Annual Book Swap!

Bring books you want to sell or trade, and cash to buy books. Find a table, set up your books and determine your own price. Cash only!
 
Class schedules for 2023-24 will be available on June 9 in myPointe. The textbook list for 2023-24 will be available by May 31.

Rising Senior Summer College Guide, Class of 2024
Congratulations on coming to the end of junior year! Mrs. McCall has created a summer college guide to share what you can be doing over the summer to prepare for the college admissions process.

The College Essay Guy is leading a free educational webinar series for juniors next week packed with tips on how to create an outstanding personal statement and college application. Summer is a great time to start writing—you'll have time to dig deep, get creative and save yourself a lot of potential stress during fall of senior year.
 
Register for one or both. Part 1: How to Write an Outstanding Personal Statement (May 23rd, 5-6 p.m.) and Part 2: How to Create an Outstanding College Application (May 25th, 4-5 p.m.)

Sophomores & Juniors

NAU Summer Game Jam
Join Northern Arizona University’s 2023 Inaugural Game Jam celebrating the launch of their new Immersive Media and Games degree program! Between July 22-23, in just 32 action-packed hours, students will team up with three other participants, bond over their shared love of game development and compete against other teams in a thrilling race to create the best Game Maker Studio game that fits the "Dark Skies" theme. All participants will enjoy free food and housing on the NAU campus. Learn more here.

Financial Aid

Applications are now open for the 23/24 school year. Please see below a list of School Tuition Organizations (STOs) that are now accepting applications:  
 
Financial Aid Independent Review (FAIR) - Please be sure to apply at www.fairapp.com using Salpointe's School Code: 800 and School Password: ctso800. Please note: a new application must be submitted each school year. Although applications are submitted through FAIR, all funds come from Catholic Tuition Support Organization (CTSO).

Arizona Leadership Foundation (ALF): 928.231.2122 - ALF offers Low Income Corporate and D/D awards. Please apply at www.arizonaleader.org. A new application must be submitted each school year.

AAA Scholarship - AAA offers Low Income Corporate awards that can now be combined with other financial need based funding. Please apply immediately at aaascholarships.org. The deadline to apply is May 22, 2023.

Institute for Better Education (IBE): 520.512.5438 - IBE not only offers financial need-based awards, they also accept Arizona tax credit recommendations for Salpointe students. Please apply at ibescholarships.org. A new application must be completed each school year.

Arizona Private Education Scholarship Fund (APESF): 480.699.8911 - Please apply at www.APESF.org.

Arizona School Choice Trust (ASCT): 623.414.3429 - Please apply at www.asct.org. There is an application fee of $35 for this application.

STEM

STEM Arthropods Summer Camp for 7th & 8th Graders
The Arthropods STEM Summer Camp is taking place on the Salpointe campus this summer for rising 7th and 8th graders. Salpointe faculty members will lead students on a fascinating journey in the study of ecology, evolution and behavior; mechanics and engineering; and biotechnology. Camp schedule is Monday, July 17 - Thursday, July 20 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday, July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration fee includes lunch Monday-Thursday. Please contact Ms. Cecilia Lluria-Gossler at cgossler@salpointe.org for more information. Registration is $500 per student. Space is limited to 20 students. Spirit Store

Congratulations to all students for another successful year!
 
Now Available: Online pre-pay for uniform polos to be picked up during the Uniform Sales and Pick-up dates listed below. Go to the Spirit Store website and click on the uniform link. Choose how many polos you want to purchase and pre-pay. Bring your receipt (we will also have a record) to the Spirit Store. We will check you in and you can pick out colors and sizes while picking up your order. Polos are also available for purchase in the store during regular hours.

Don't forget that there are new PE Uniform requirements! Please see the dress code for detailed information. Students that are enrolled in any PE course are required to wear the PE uniform. These may be purchased in the Spirit Store.
 
Have any Salpointe gear you'd like to donate? Seniors cleaning out their closets? You can always drop off your gently used Salpointe uniforms or outerwear in the Spirit Store or at the Salpointe Thrift Store at 1705 E. Fort Lowell Rd.

Price Increase Alert
Due to costs increasing from distributors, beginning May 30th, standard, short-sleeved uniform polos price will increase from $17 to $20. Please stop by and stock up before the increase from our current inventory.
 
If you have a Gift Card from last year or older, please be sure to redeem your balance by the end of this month. New Gift Cards are available and make great gifts! Students that have ordered club shirts are reminded to pick up their orders in the Spirit Store as soon as possible.
