Cameron Miller scored 21 points to lead the Lancers in the 4A state championship game against Shadow Mountain last Saturday.
Although the Lancers lost 81-48, Miller’s individual performance on the big stage made him a top candidate for Southern Arizona Player of the Year consideration.

Lost in his performance, however, was the fact that he came into the final with 996 career points and he passed the 1,000-point mark when he cut the Shadow Mountain lead down from 8-0 to 8-5 with 2:56 left in the first period. Miller ended his high school career with 1,017 points.

“In his final high school game, the 4A state championship, Cameron Miller scored 21 points to bring his career total at Salpointe to 1,017,” Salpointe head coach Brian Holstrom said. “He really became a complete player but consistently scored well in three years at the varsity level.

Miller also poured in 18 points in the 57-55 win over Catalina Foothills in the semifinals.

The son of University of Arizona head coach Sean Miller, Cameron has an offer from Youngstown State. His older brother Austin was a 2014 AllSportsTucson.com All-Southern Arizona selection as a guard from Catalina Foothills. Read more.
