|Drug Testing Program
Salpointe Catholic High School’s mandatory drug testing program screens every student at least one time during the school year for drug use. A student who has a positive drug screen must follow treatment options as directed by the school and have a negative drug screen approximately three months after the initial test.
The mandatory drug testing program is an enhancement to the school’s existing education and prevention initiatives that encourage students to make positive choices to avoid the dangers of using illegal substances.
The primary purpose of the testing program is to help students remain drug-free by providing them with another way to counter peer pressure to use illegal drugs. Our goal is to continue to be positive, proactive and collaborative with our students and their parents and do everything we reasonably can to prevent the painful consequences of drug abuse.
We want to give students:
· A reason not to use drugs.
· A reason to quit, if they have started.
· A reason to get help, if they cannot quit.
