General Announcements
Cell Phone Break
Dear Salpointe Parents and Guardians,
Beginning the week of April 21, Salpointe Catholic is launching a 13-day “Cell Phone Break”. From the first bell at 8:10 a.m. to the last bell at 2:30 p.m. every school day, students will be asked to turn off phones, AirPods, and smartwatches and keep them stored in their backpacks. This “Break” will continue through Friday, May 9 and regular cell phone use will resume on Monday, May 12.
I know this might raise some questions, but this decision comes from a place of care and a deep commitment to our students’ well-being. Since January, a team of teachers, administrators and directors has been meeting to look at the impact of personal device use on campus. With input from students, parents and faculty, one message came through loud and clear: something needs to shift. This “Cell Phone Break” will help us determine how we should manage cell phone use on campus in the future. View full letter here. View video shown to students today here.

Seniors
Senior College Decisions
Seniors are in the midst of college decision making and have until May 1 to commit to the college of their choice. We are so happy to celebrate students who have been admitted to a variety of universities in Arizona, across the country and around the globe. Students, please remember to: 1.) mark your acceptances, denials and wait-list decisions in Scoir (My Colleges → Applied) and, 2.) send a copy of college decisions and academic scholarships to our college counselor: tmccall@salpointe.org. Each year, we create a list of colleges that have offered admission to our students, based on the college decision letters they share with us. We also keep a close record of the total amount of scholarships awarded. For example, here are the College Acceptances, Class of 2024.

You can also catch the exhibit during Corcoran Theatre performances this weekend. Looking ahead, join us on May 1 from 5-8 p.m. for the Spring Fine Arts Festival, a vibrant celebration of music and visual art created by our talented Lancer students.
