Spirituality at Salpointe

Empowering and supporting spiritual growth through the Carmelite charism of prayer, community and service.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry at Salpointe Catholic High School is an integral component of the school’s mission to educate the heart as well as the mind. Our objective is to provide opportunities for self-reflection to our students, faculty, staff and parents to encourage growth in relationships with God and others. We seek to lead our community into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and empower all to carry out the Carmelite call to prayer, community and service through the graces of the Sacraments and formed through opportunities of retreat, formation, service and prayer.

Kairos

Kairos, meaning “God’s Time” in Greek, is a beginning, a Christian awakening, an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ. During their three and half-day experience, students reflect upon their relationship with God, family and friends. The Kairos retreat is open to juniors during spring semester and seniors during fall semester. All students are highly encouraged to take advantage of this scripture-based, growth experience.

Salpointe Confirmation Prep

The Diocese of Tucson has granted permission for Salpointe to partner with local parishes in offering Confirmation preparation classes for Catholic sophomores who have already received the sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion. Please note that students must still be registered with a local parish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, as Salpointe does not administer the sacrament itself. Salpointe is facilitating the sacramental preparation program because so many of our students are busy with academics, athletics and other extracurricular activities.

As of the 2026/2027 school year, we are no longer offering confirmation prep classes after school. If a student wishes to prepare for their confirmation at Salpointe, they will need to enroll in a specific “Sophomore Theology with Confirmation” class for 2026/2027. These classes will take the place of their normal Theology class. In effect, they will receive a curriculum that integrates Confirmation preparation into our typical sophomore theology classes (The Paschal Mystery & Jesus Christ’s Mission: The Church).

While freshmen registration has already closed, we can accommodate special registration requests for the 2026/2027 school year through May 1, 2026. If you have any questions or if you would like your soon-to-be sophomore enrolled, please email confirmation@salpointe.org.

Note that your family will need to be registered with a local parish, and next year we will need copies of your son or daughter’s Baptism and First Communion certificates. Because we have to purchase program materials for each student, there will also be a $50 per-participant charge added to your student’s tuition account next year.

Service Learning

When Jesus finished washing the feet of his disciples, he returned to his place and addressed them… “Do you understand what I have done for you? … I have set you an example … As I have done, you must do the same.”

As part of the mission of Salpointe to inspire a life of leadership and service to others, all students are expected to complete annual community service hours. The Service Program is designed to weave service into each student’s high school experience in hopes of inspiring a lifetime of serving others.

Pray with Us

Students, families, alumni, faculty and staff are all welcome to join us in daily morning prayer in Salpointe’s Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Chapel. Campus guests must first check in at the Glenn Street gate and the front office before coming to the chapel.

Daily Mass from 7:30am to 8:00am — Monday – Friday
No mass offered on all school mass days, late start schedule and on days there is no school scheduled.

Laudato Si’

Care for Our Common Home

Laudato Si’ is an encyclical by Pope Francis that calls for care for the environment and all people. The title comes from the canticle of St. Francis of Assisi, and translates to “Praise be to you, my Lord.”

Salpointe is dedicated to following Pope Francis’ call to action and works for environmental justice through the faculty/staff/student Laudato Si’ Committee, Earth Club, recycling efforts and green initiatives on campus.
