Cell Phone Break – Thank you!
Dear Parents,
Thank you for your overwhelming support of our cell phone break. Over the past three weeks, it has been wonderful to see our Lancers during passing periods with their heads up, engaging with one another instead of their phones. During lunchtime, I’ve received positive feedback about how friend groups are conversing at their tables rather than being absorbed in their devices.
We collected fewer than two hundred phones, watches, and AirPods combined. Our students have been respectful, and although they may not admit it, they have enjoyed the break. Today, I rewarded them with a “free” cozy day out of appreciation for their participation. Once again, thank you for your support during this time, allowing us all to slow down and take a break from constant scrolling.
On another note, please take this weekend to work with your student to devise a study plan for finals. By calendaring your family activities for the next two weeks, students can identify available time slots to dedicate to studying and prepare effectively for their exams.
Have a blessed weekend, and thank you for your partnership.
Warm regards,
Ardemis Martin, Principal
Review your Course Requests for next year and schedule change options
From Monday, May 12 at 10 a.m. until Wednesday, May 14 at 9 p.m., all returning students have the opportunity to review their course requests for next year. Open MyPointe and then the “course requests” tab. If you want to make any changes, see your class counselor by Monday, May 19. This is the best time to request a schedule change. It is free and there may be more options available. Official schedules will be posted on June 20. You may request a change between June 20-26; however, there is a $50 fee and options will be even more limited. In both cases, please be aware that many of our classes are already full and making a change may not be possible. If you have any questions, contact Mike Urbanski, Director of Counseling, at murbanski@salpointe.org.
Seniors
Final Steps for Seniors
After teachers submit final grades, it will take time for transcripts to be finalized. Your final high school transcript will be sent to the college you’ll attend as marked in your Scoir account. You do not need to request a final transcript. If there is a change in your plans, and you need a final transcript sent somewhere else, please email tmccall@salpointe.org. Find more information inside the final College Newsletter for the Class of 2025 regarding lockers, diplomas and sending in testing scores.
