Dear Salpointe Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to host our first Parent Forum of the year on Friday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Corcoran Theater, and we hope you will join us. The evening’s topic, The Adolescent Brain, promises to be both engaging and relevant to parents. This forum will coincide with the freshman dance (6-8 p.m.), giving freshman parents the opportunity to attend while their students enjoy the dance.
The first forum will explore the lesser-known neurophysiology of the adolescent brain and its influence on the developmental and behavioral changes that can be challenging for both parents and teens. This session will be led by John Leggio, founder of The Mark, who is excited to share this topic with our parents. He will return to present again on April 15, 2026.
As a reminder, all parents are required to attend at least one Parent Forum each year in order for your student to participate in school dances later in the year. We have three forums scheduled this semester: September 19, October 29, and November 19. The September and October forums feature a focus on electronics and their impact on student anxiety.
As we continue to explore ways to partner with our parents in educating our young people, we believe these newly revived forums will be a valuable resource for our entire community.
Sincerely,
Larry Chilgreen
Director of Counseling
