Salpointe Names Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Retention

Salpointe Catholic High School is pleased to welcome Mr. Rafael Meza ‘87 as the school’s new Director of Admissions, Enrollment, and Retention.

Reporting to Salpointe President Jennifer Harris, Meza’s primary responsibilities include the recruitment, admission, and retention of students. He will represent Salpointe at public events, work closely with prospective families and middle school administrators, and oversee all aspects of student enrollment.

Meza brings three decades of enrollment management and admissions leadership experience from the University of Arizona, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Enrollment Management and Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Admission. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mexican American Studies from the University of Arizona and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. Throughout his career, he has led initiatives focused on recruitment, student access, family engagement, and enrollment strategy, with particular emphasis on supporting first-generation students and building meaningful pathways to education. A bilingual leader and first-generation college graduate, Meza has also remained deeply involved in the Tucson community through mentorship, scholarship advocacy, and educational leadership.

His connection to Salpointe spans decades as an alumnus, parent, volunteer, former Board of Directors member, and Alumni Council Board member.

“Rafael’s expertise, years of admissions experience at the University of Arizona, and commitment to Salpointe as an alumnus, parent, and longtime volunteer make him the perfect person for this important role. I am thrilled to have him join the Salpointe team,” said Salpointe President Jennifer Harris.

“Salpointe has shaped my life in such meaningful ways—as a student, parent, and community member. Returning to the Salpointe community in this leadership role is both meaningful and humbling, and I look forward to serving our students and families through thoughtful stewardship, relationship-building, and mission-centered leadership. Go Lancers!” says Meza.
