Salpointe Weekly Peek – November 14, 2025

Weekly Prayer

Lord, please help me to do all that I can, For You have taught me to live generously, Praying for others in their need, Forgiving without being asked, Loving despite human frailty and faults, And sharing the blessings You have given to me. Amen. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Pray for us.

Principal’s Letter: Parent Forum on Mental Health and Technology
Dear Lancer Families,
I invite you to join us next week for an important presentation inspired by The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt. This parent forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. in Foundation Hall and will be hosted by our Director of Counseling, Larry Chilgreen; our Assistant Principal for Student Services, Dr. Leslie Saulsby; Chemistry Teacher and Science Department Co-Chair Abbey Zaepfel; and me.
Together, we will review the growing body of research on the social and emotional toll that smartphones and constant connectivity have on adolescents. We will also discuss in greater detail our schoolwide initiative, Devices Down, Relationships Up, and how it is designed to support the mental health, academic engagement, and overall well-being of our students.
This is a vital conversation for our community, and we strongly encourage all parents to attend. If you have not yet participated in a parent forum this year, please note that this presentation fulfills the required annual parent forum attendance needed for your student to participate in our spring dances.
We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Ardemis Martin
Principal
