Salpointe Weekly Peek – October 17, 2025

Weekly Prayer

Loving Lord, when answers I seek remain hidden from me, May I seek more fervently to believe. When I struggle with the challenges I face, May I be open to grace You want me to receive. Amen. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Pray for us.

Simone Smith ’29 Earns National Recognition
Dear Lancer Community,
Please join me in congratulating Salpointe freshman and St. Cyril graduate, Simone Smith, who has been named one of only 30 finalists in the 2025 Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge!
Out of thousands of nominees nationwide and nearly 1,900 applicants, Simone is one of 30 finalists nationwide who have earned this honor for her incredible science fair project, where she created an AI model to detect landmines.
Later this month, Simone will travel to Washington, D.C. to represent Salpointe in the national finals, where she’ll present her project and participate in science and engineering challenges with other top young innovators in our country.
Way to go, Simone, we are proud of you and can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Martin

Stay organized and keep track of all your application deadlines!
As you prepare for college, don’t forget to apply for scholarships, learn about Financial Aid and how to pay for college.

Four recipients will each receive $4,500 to support their education at an accredited post-secondary institution. Funds may be used toward tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required course equipment. Applications are due no later than December 15, 2025. Scholarships will be awarded in May 2026.
