“Stronger Together: Devices Down, Relationships Up” Returns Nov. 3

October 27, 2025
Dear Salpointe families,
Beginning November 3 through November 21, Salpointe Catholic will once again launch our successful campus-wide initiative, “Stronger Together: Devices Down, Relationships Up.” From the first bell at 8:10 a.m. to the last bell at 2:30 p.m., students will be asked to turn off their phones, AirPods, and smartwatches and keep them stored securely in their backpacks.
This initiative was met with tremendous success last spring, helping our students reconnect with one another, engage more fully in class, and rediscover the value of presence. We’re excited to bring it back this fall, and we’re confident it will once again strengthen the sense of community that makes Salpointe so special.
During this three-week period, students will be invited to participate in lunchtime activities designed to build relationships and promote joy… games, conversations, music, and outdoor fun. Faculty and staff will also be modeling limited device use during the school day as we commit together to the spirit of “Stronger Together.”
Looking ahead, beginning second semester, Salpointe will move to a school-wide ongoing cell phone policy modeled after this initiative. We will continue to designate special days for appropriate device use, similar to how we approach dress-down days, for community celebrations such as College Decision Day and other milestone events.
Please note that this policy includes AirPods and smartwatches. We encourage parents to consider purchasing regular wired headphones that can plug into Chromebooks for use during classroom work or lunch if students wish to listen to music or watch approved videos.
If you need to contact your student during the school day, please reach out to Student Services or email your student directly. Students will continue to have Chromebook access for communication.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in fostering an environment where our students can truly thrive — focused, connected, and grounded in faith and community. Together, we are modeling the balance our young people need to grow into thoughtful, present, and compassionate leaders.
With gratitude,
Ardemis Martin
