Weekly Prayer

Papal Call for Vigil for Peace

Pope Leo XIV invites everyone to join him in a Prayer Vigil for Peace on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Rome time (9:00 a.m. Tucson time). All are invited to pray for peace in our world, whether that prayer is lifted up in parishes, chapels, or in the silence of our hearts. See the statement from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops for more details.
An excerpt from the Prayer for Peace of Pope Francis:
Lord Jesus, we adore your cross which frees us from sin, the origin of every division and evil;
We proclaim your resurrection, which ransoms man from the slavery of failure and death;
We await your coming in glory, which will bring to fulfilment your kingdom of justice, joy and peace.
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us.

General Announcements

Letter from the Principal
Happy Friday, Lancers,
Today was a very special day here at Salpointe as our seniors gathered for their final All-School Mass. Moments like this remind us just how quickly time has passed and how meaningful their journey has been.
As they sat together one last time in this sacred space, it was a powerful reminder that the next time they will come together as a class to celebrate Mass will be at their Baccalaureate Mass at the Cathedral. We held each of them in a special way in prayer today, recognizing this as one of many important “lasts” they will experience in the coming weeks. Our seniors are deeply loved, and we are incredibly proud of the young men and women they have become.
We were also honored to welcome Bishop James Misko, the eighth Bishop of the Diocese of Tucson, to celebrate Mass with us. His presence made this already meaningful day even more special, and we are truly blessed to have had him on campus.
Our academic celebrations continue to roll in. Please join me in congratulating our National Merit Commended students: Carolina Gonzalez, Colt  Koontz, Liana Tang, and Michelle  Yap…an outstanding accomplishment that reflects their hard work and dedication.
And finally, it is with great pride that we share a remarkable achievement. Baron Hurst has been named a finalist in the prestigious MathCON National Student Math Competition. Competing against thousands of students across the country, Baron has demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and mathematical talent. This recognition places him among the top young mathematicians in the nation, an incredible accomplishment.
To all of our scholars, stay strong…we only have a few weeks to go until finals!
Sincerely,
Ardemis Martin

Teacher of the Quarter: Ms. Elena Ash
We are proud to announce that Ms. Elena Ash has been voted Teacher of the Quarter by our students! This recognition reflects the meaningful impact she has on her classroom each and every day.
Students describe Ms. Ash as “amazing,” “supportive,” and “fun,” highlighting her ability to create an engaging and welcoming environment. They appreciate how deeply she cares about her students—both academically and personally—and how she brings lessons to life with creativity, humor, and meaningful connection. Many shared that her class is a place where they feel encouraged, supported, and excited to learn.
Her dedication to helping students grow as writers and thinkers, along with her willingness to meet students where they are, truly sets her apart. As one student shared, “Walking into class and seeing her makes me happy.”
Congratulations, Ms. Ash, on this well-deserved honor!

Senior College Decisions Update

Seniors are in the midst of finalizing their college decisions and have until May 1 to commit to the school of their choice. We are proud to celebrate our students who have been admitted to universities across Arizona, the country, and around the world. Seniors, please remember to:
  1. Update your college outcomes in Scoir (My Colleges → Applied), including acceptances, denials, and waitlist decisions.
  2. Send copies of your college decisions and any academic scholarships to your college counselor at tmccall@salpointe.org or levans@salpointe.org.
Each year, we compile a list of college acceptances based on the decision letters students submit, and we carefully track both acceptances and total scholarships awarded. For reference,

here is the Class of 2025: College Acceptances.
