Culinary Students Explore Local Flavors at Mission Garden

As part of Salpointe Catholic High School’s Wellness Program, students in Chef Neff’s third period Culinary class took a field trip to Mission Garden on March 4. Located at the base of A Mountain, Mission Garden offered students a hands-on experience rich in culture, history, and local flavors.

During their visit, students explored the garden’s historical significance and learned about the diverse crops grown in the region. They then brought their experience into the kitchen, baking cookies and muffins using fresh ingredients such as Seville oranges and Mexican sweet limes.

The trip provided a meaningful opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. To learn more about Mission Garden, including ways to volunteer, donate, or purchase goods, visit www.missiongarden.org.
