Lancer to the League: Mason White ’22 Drafted by the Boston Red Sox

Salpointe is celebrating a proud moment as Mason White ’22 has been selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 4th round of the 2025 MLB Draft (pick No. 118 overall).

A Tucson native and standout shortstop, Mason’s baseball journey began right here at Salpointe. After graduating in 2022, Mason stayed close to home, committing to the University of Arizona where he became a key piece of the Wildcats’ infield over three seasons.

In his junior season alone, Mason batted .310 with 13 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 58 runs scored; numbers that earned him All-Pac-12 First Team honors and the attention of MLB scouts across the country. Known for his steady glove, strong arm, and explosive bat, Mason became one of the top shortstops in college baseball and a fan favorite at Hi Corbett Field.

As he takes the next step in his baseball journey, the Lancer community beams with pride. We look forward to following Mason’s professional career and cheering him on every step of the way.
