Congratulations to senior Claire Conger '17 who has been named a finalist for the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to a student who best exemplifies leadership, sportsmanship, community service and academic achievement while, at the same time, participating and contributing to a varsity team.
Claire is one of four female finalists. The overall winner will be announced at the AIA Champions luncheon at the University of Phoenix stadium on May 15.
Claire is a four-year participant in cross country and track and field and was the captain of this year's state championship cross country team. In addition to her athletic achievements, Claire is a member of the Jazz band, is the Drum Major of the marching band, is an AP and Salpointe Scholar, volunteers at the VA hospital and works part-time.
