Willie-Z 3on3 Tournament

The 7th annual Willie-Z 3on3 tournament will take place May 27-28, 2017 at Salpointe Catholic High School. Participants should be at least 16 years of age to compete. The entry fee is $100 per team and up to five players are allowed on each roster. All teams are guaranteed at least four games and each participant receives a T-Shirt. All proceeds benefit the William Zarifi Memorial Foundation and the Salpointe Basketball program. For questions about sponsorships and additional information, e-mail williez3on3@gmail.com.

William Zarifi, an avid basketball player, graduated from Salpointe (as did his siblings Walid '97, Linda '01 and Samuel '08) and headed on to the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. Despite being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at the age of 19, he kept up his studies and extracurricular activities, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average and managing the USC men’s basketball team. Will lost his battle with cancer on October 9, 2008 but was later honored as the posthumous salutatorian at the 2009 USC commencement. Will’s passion for life, athletics and those he loved inspired his family to create the William Zarifi Memorial Fund to benefit underprivileged children in third world countries.
