Great Service Opportunity!
Casa Alitas has partnered with Salpointe Catholic High School to offer service opportunities for students.
Activities include: Welcoming migrants and distributing masks, water, soup and fruit; escorting to assigned rooms; helping to organize, sort and select clothing and toiletries; preparing and serving meals; folding and doing laundry, along with general tidying and sanitizing. There may also be the possibility of teaching English or Art classes, as allowed by pandemic protocols. The work goes a long way in supporting these displaced families as they journey to sponsor families.

Carmelite Spirituality
Salpointe offers morning Mass at 7:35 am each Tuesday and Thursday at the chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The chapel is located next to the library, across from Foundation Hall. Everyone is welcome: students, parents, faculty, staff and guests.
Character Counts
Our first Character Commentaries of the new year started this week. On Wednesday, Stella presented a different perspective on New Year resolutions. The lesson was to use the same will-power and commitment people often have for losing weight to work on aspects of integrity and good character (
New Year Resolution). On Thursday, Omar continued the resolution theme, listing stats of time spent on basic life activities, suggesting to make the commitment of more quality time with loved ones (
Spending Quality Time). Follow the links to read the full commentaries!
