Salpointe Weekly Peek - March 1, 2024

Happy Friday, Lancers!

Loving God, I come before You in need and in gratitude. In times of illness or struggle, please give me the help I need to remain strong in faith. In times of loneliness, please bestow a renewed sense of belonging. In prayer, I give You thanks that, in asking, I have already received the grace needed to believe. Amen. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, pray for us.

Casa Alitas Drive and Service Hours
The Spanish Honor Society is working with Casa Alitas to help political asylum seekers and refugees from all over the world. We are collecting gently used winter clothes, shoes and backpacks. As Bishop Edward Weisenburger says: "Casa Alitas' migrant-aid effort, through Catholic Community Services, is an embodiment of the Gospel." We are moved to witness the gratitude of the migrant families, who often arrive at Casa Alitas having walked through the soles of their shoes. We will be taking donations until the end of the school year. Additionally, if any Salpointe student is looking to complete their volunteer hours, they are welcome to join us every Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon. Please contact Ms. Owens or Mejía-García for more information. For more information, click here.

College acceptances are flowing in for our seniors, who have been admitted to a variety of universities. We are so anxious to hear about your college plans! Students, please remember to 1.) mark your acceptances, denials and wait-list decisions in Scoir (under 'Applied'), and 2.) send a copy of college decisions and academic scholarships to college@salpointe.org.
