Dear Lancer Families,
We welcome new beginnings as spring arrives here in the Old Pueblo! We especially look forward to the 2021-22 school year: on campus, in person, five days a week! We can’t wait to once again provide the signature Salpointe experience for every Lancer.
In addition, we have encouraging news that will have a positive impact in your student’s classrooms this semester. Due to decreasing community COVID transmission metrics in Pima County and due to changing CDC guidelines allowing for three feet of social distancing (versus six) between desks, on Monday, March 22, Salpointe will implement this updated distancing guideline on our campus. We will maintain at least six feet of distance between students and teachers. We look forward to being able to accommodate our Lancers in every classroom with no overflow of students. During lunch, we will maintain six feet of social distancing. Masks and other health and safety protocols will continue to be mandated on campus.
This week marks the one year anniversary of our "closing" Salpointe at the beginning of the US coronavirus pandemic. In our March 15, 2020 message to you, we assured you that we would be back in session on Monday, April 20, 2020, right after spring break. Wow, what a gross miscalculation on our part!
Thank you for your patience, flexibility and support as we adjusted to digital life during a global pandemic. In spite of the daily uncertainty and challenges, you and your family demonstrated resilience, collaboration, courage, problem solving and understanding as we navigated some tough times together. As true Lancers, you faced each day with a reliance on prayer, in service to each other and mindful of the safety of our wider community.
Again, thank you for your continued support.
Kay Sullivan
President
